What is SY Manager ?

Download SY Manager version 2.2.2

SY Manager (SYM) is a PC based general purpose editor and librarian for the Yamaha SY77 and SY99 Music Synthesizers. It also works with the TG77 rackmount synth. SY Manager is distributed as freeware.

SYM runs on any Windows operating system from Win95SR2 on including WinXP. You can use SYM to create, edit and store voice patches without a MIDI interface, but to use SYM with your SY you will need a hardware MIDI interface. A Creative Labs Soundblaster or similar will work fine.

See the SY series FAQ listing.

What can it do for me?

With SYM you get:

  • Full graphical patch editing and library support for the SY77 and SY99 with voice conversion from DX format.
  • Comprehensive management of all voice, multi, sample and waveform data on your SY in the PatchViewer. Voice patches can be "dragged" directly into files or arranged in any combination.
  • Universal SY patch editing : all voice modes, including drum voices, can be edited. SY99 sample and waveform parameters can also be edited.
  • MIDI aware, drag and drop, graphical editing - hear your patch changes as you make them.
  • Powerful MIDI engine allows you to send sysex commands and store any dumps received including sequencer data. Custom commands can also be sent.
  • Front Panel simulator - allows you to control your SYnth remotely through a front panel mimic - the buttons function exactly as they do on your synth.
  • MIDIFile Player - you can play MIDI files to hear how your editing sounds in context without leaving SYM.
  • X2Y patch converter - converts your 6 operator DX7 voices to SY format. All DX7 file formats are supported and the conversions are sonically accurate.
  • Full patch library facilities with drag and drop patch management, auditioning, patch printing etc.
